PREVIEW: Dukes Travel to Virginia Beach for Atlantic 10 Championships

PITTSBURGH - The Duquesne University indoor track & field team will compete at the Atlantic 10 Indoor Track & Field Championships on Friday and Saturday in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

MEET INFO  
Atlantic 10 Indoor Track & Field Championships • Friday Feb. 28 - Saturday Mar. 1 • Virginia Beach, Va. (Virginia Beach Sports Center) SEASON STATS  START LISTS DUKES IN THE TOP 10 OF THE A-10 
  • Senior Hannah Seitzinger leads the A-10 in the 400m with a time of 55.17 seconds.
  • Amy Allen is second in the A-10 in the 400m at 55.31 seconds.
  • Alyssa Willis is 10th in the A-10 in the 60m with a time of 7.68 seconds set at SPIRE.
  • The 4x400m relay team of Seitzinger Willis, Allen, and Eva Leatherman leads the A-10 entering the championships.
  • Allen and Seitzinger also lead the A-10 in the Distance Medley Relay, alongside seniors Haley Hamilton and Mara Whalen, with a top time of 11:36.94.
  • Sophomore Caroline Garbe is second in the A-10 in the high jump with a mark of 1.74 meters.
  • Freshman Nadia Constantakis is eighth in the A-10 in the pole vault with a program-high mark of 3.62 meters (11-10.5).
  • Freshman Rose Kuchera ranks sixth in the triple jump with a distance of 11.90 meters (39-0.5).
  • Junior Madelyn Moretti is third in the shot put with a mark of 14.52 meters, recording the second-best mark in program history at Penn State.
  • Duquesne has two top-ten pentathlon performers:
  • Sophomore Anna Rorrer ranks fifth in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.81 seconds.
RETURNING MEDALISTS
  • The Dukes return five medalists: seniors Hannah Seitzinger, Alyssa Willis, Amy Allen, and Haley Hamilton, along with junior Madelyn Moretti.
  • Hannah Seitzinger is a three-time gold medalist in the 500m, winning the event in each of the past three seasons. She also contributed to the 4x400m relay team, which earned silver in 2024 and bronze in 2023. Notably, she is the only Duke to win three gold medals in the same event at the Indoor Championships.
  • Alyssa Willis and Amy Allen were key members of the 4x400m relay teams, helping secure silver in 2024 and bronze in 2023. Allen also earned back-to-back bronze medals in the 500m in both 2023 and 2024.
  • Haley Hamilton claimed a bronze medal in the 1000m in 2024.
  • Madelyn Moretti secured bronze in the shot put in 2024.
LAST SEASON AT A-10s
  • Duquesne placed fifth with 70 points at the 2023-24 Atlantic 10 Championships — the best finish since 2020.
  • The Dukes earned seven medals — the second-most in program history, behind nine in 2014.
  • Duquesne has finished as high as second place at the indoor conference championships, tying for runner-up in 2014 with 109 points … Last season was DU's 12th top-five finish in program history.
SEASON HONORS RECORD SETTERS
  • Caroline Garbe set a program record in the high jump with a mark of 1.74 meters at the Kent State Jud Logan Memorial.
  • Hannah Seitzinger broke her own program record in the 800m, posting a time of 2:06.01 at the Penn State National Open. She previously set the record at 2:08.16 during last year's ECAC Championships.
  • Nadia Constantakis reset her program record in the pole vault, clearing 3.62 meters. She previously set the mark at 3.55 meters at the Ashland Collegiate Invitational, breaking a record that had stood since 2005.
LAST TIME OUT 
  • The Dukes split their squad between the SPIRE Collegiate Games, Boston University Valentine Invitational, and Youngstown State Last Chance Invitational … 6 Dukes claimed first-place finishes and recorded 16 top-five finishes.
  • Seniors Alyssa Willis and Amy Allen combined for four top-five finishes … Willis took second in the 60m and third in the 200m, while Allen won the 400m with a career-best 55.31 and placed fifth in the 200m.
  • Freshman Nadia Constantakis reset her pole vault program record at YSU, clearing 3.62m (11-10.5) on her first attempt … Constantakis is the first Duke to clear 3.50m or better since 2012.
  • First-place finishes:
  • Freshman Rose Kuchera placed top five in long jump (5.51m/18-1) and triple jump (11.47m/37-7.75).
  • Whalen and Roemer also helped the 4x400m relay team alongside Cydney Blahovec and Reagan Ryen finish fifth in 4:09.13.
  • Seniors Hannah Seitzinger and Haley Hamilton had strong performances in Boston … Seitzinger ran 2:09.76 in the 800m, while Hamilton clocked 5:02.51 in the mile, both their second-best times of the season.

UP NEXT 
Qualifying Dukes will wrap up the indoor season at the IC4A/ECAC Indoor Championships from March 7-9 in Boston … The outdoor season kicks off at the 49er Classic in Charlotte on March 21-22.
