WASHINGTON, D.C. – Caroline Garbe was named Atlantic 10 Field Performer of the Week after her first-place finish and record-setting performance in the high jump at the
Kent State Jud Logan Memorial.
Garbe, a sophomore from Webster, N.Y., cleared a program-high 1.74 meters (5-8.5) on Saturday, surpassing the previous record of 1.73 meters held by Liz Wayne ('17) and
Sadie Wetzel ('24). With this performance, she now ranks first in the Atlantic 10 in the high jump.
Garbe's previous best was 1.65, set at the season opener in December. After battling back from a pair of misses at 1.63 and 1.68, she cleared 1.71 and 1.74 on her first attempts.
Duquesne will be back in action on Saturday, Jan. 25, at the Ashland Collegiate Invitational.
