UNDERGRADUATE INTERNSHIPS
MARKETING & FAN ENGAGEMENT INTERNSHIP
The athletics marketing and fan engagement intern(s) will play an active role in the development and implementation of marketing, sales and fan engagement strategies for the Duquesne Athletics Department. As an intern, you will build and execute social media campaigns as well as assist in the preparation of in-game logistics. This internship offers the opportunity to gain behind-the-scenes experience working directly with a Division I athletic program. Applicants must be enrolled at Duquesne University for both the Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 semesters to be considered for the internship. Up to two students may be selected for the 2025-26 academic year. Below is a general job description for the internship:
- Assist with promotional, social media and marketing efforts for assigned Olympic sport(s)
- Create a social media content calendar for Olympic sports
- Execute social media engagement plans to increase exposure and fan engagement
- Assist Graduate Assistant(s), Marketing & Fan Engagement with the creation of a bi-weekly newsletter to boost fan engagement
This internship can be offered for academic credit. Students should consult their academic advisor to determine internship eligibility and requirements relative to their degree.

GAMEDAY MARKETING INTERNSHIP
The Duquesne Athletics Marketing Department is seeking energetic, responsible, organized and dedicated individuals to serve as student interns for the 2025-26 school year. As an intern, you will play a crucial role in the department's gameday marketing efforts through the execution of promotional strategies for fan engagement and revenue generation. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a Division I college athletic department. Applicants must be enrolled at Duquesne University for both the Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 semesters to be considered for the internship. All majors will be considered. Below is a general job description for the internship:
- Assist with the execution of marketing plans for football, volleyball, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's basketball, lacrosse and acrobatics & tumbling
- Execute game day promotions, activities and game operations for home athletic events and hosted postseason events
- Attend and actively contribute to monthly Marketing team meetings
- Coordinate special events, promotions and special recognition events
- Take an active role with content collection and social media coordination

RED AND BLUE CREW INTERNSHIP
Looking to gain hands-on experience in sports marketing, social media, and college athletics? The Duquesne Athletics Marketing Department is looking for up to five creative, driven students to join the Red and Blue Crew internship for the 2025-26 school year. Each intern will take on a unique focus, whether it's managing social media, planning promotions, or helping lead the student section. Interns are expected to dedicate five hour each week, including a weekly meeting and attendance at specific athletic events. This is a great opportunity to build your resume, grow your skill set, and work closely with a Division I athletic program. All majors will be considered. Below is a general job description for the internship:
- Handle social media posting, engagement, and creative content on X and Instagram
- Assist with planning and promoting game day events
- Brainstorm in-game activations and student section ideas
- Recruit students to join and support Duquesne Athletics, with an emphasis on football and men's and women's basketball
- Spread awareness about upcoming athletic events and promotions via weekly emails, social media, and on-campus activation

GRAPHIC DESIGN INTERNSHIP
Duquesne Athletics is seeking a creative and motivated graphic design intern for the 2025-26 academic year. This opportunity is designed to provide hands-on, entry level experience in sports marketing and design, with a focus on developing a broad understanding of external relations within collegiate athletics. Below is a general job description for the internship:
- Develop and execute visual identity for the athletic department (posters, schedule cards, print, digital, video board and social media content)
- Updating templated artwork
- Logging and tagging assets for departmental digital needs
- Take an active role in the content collection, planning and execution for social media platforms
- Assist in the fulfillment of sponsorship and development design needs

Duquesne Athletics is seeking a motivated creative content intern for the 2025-26 academic year. This opportunity is designed to provide hands-on, entry level experience in creative content within the sports realm, as well as an opportunity to sharpen one's photo, video, and editing skills. - Cover photo and video responsibilities for Duquesne Athletics games and events
- Create original photo and video work to be used for team social accounts
- Assist in logging footage from Duquesne events
- Contribute to department content planning and execution

This opportunity is designed to provide hands-on experience in storytelling, social media management, gameday operations, and statistical recordkeeping while working directly with a Division I athletic program. Below is a general job description for the internship:
- Assist with communications, social media, and media relations efforts for all Duquesne Athletics programs
- Provide postgame recaps, interviews, and media coverage for assigned sports
- Develop and maintain game notes, press releases, and feature stories for GoDuquesne.com
- Help coordinate press box operations, media requests, and credential distributions

ATHLETICS MASCOT
The Duquesne Athletics Marketing Department is seeking energetic and creative individuals who will represent the University and Athletics at the highest level on and off campus throughout the school year as the official mascot, the Duke! Applicants must be enrolled at Duquesne University for both the Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 semesters to be considered for this part-time role. Below is a general job description of the role:
- Student selected to be the Duquesne Duke can receive up to a $1,500 SCHOLARSHIP for the year
- Entertain and perform as the mascot at various events, including home athletic games, campus events, and off-campus community events
- Engage with fans by leading cheers and creating a fun atmosphere in and around the venue
- Promote school spirit and enthusiasm for athletic programs during games and events

Duquesne Athletic Productions provides students with the opportunity to have a hand in producing live television broadcasts airing on one of ESPN's family of networks, as well as various other avenues. Students will learn from professionals on how to operator television-grade equipment in the Department of Athletics' production trailer while assisting in the storytelling of Duquesne Athletics to a broader audience. Students also will get the opportunity to assist in the productions at the state-of-the-art UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse. DAP has been recognized as a great training ground for students striving to work in sports television, entertainment and live event productions.
