KENT, Ohio – Duquesne sophomore Caroline Garbe set a new program record and won first place in the high jump clearing 1.74 meters (5-8.5) in Saturday's Kent State Jud Logan Memorial.

Garbe, who entered the competition with a personal best of 1.65 meters set at the season opener last month, surpassed the previous mark of 1.73 meters, held by Liz Wayne ('17) and Sadie Wetzel ('24). The second-year jumper from Webster, N.Y., missed her first two attempts at 1.63m and 1.68m before clearing on her final try. She then delivered successful jumps at 1.71m and 1.74m on consecutive attempts.
Senior Haley Hamilton took first place in the mile, recording a personal-best time of 5:03.90. First-year Grace Senneway followed in second place with a time of 5:09.38, finishing as the runner-up in her first collegiate indoor meet.
Hamilton (2:16.82) added a fifth-place run in the 800m, while fellow senior Mara Whalen paced five Dukes in the event with a 2:15.71 in third.
Duquesne had two of the top three teams in the 4x400m relay. The team of seniors Alyssa Willis and Halle Walcutt, junior Eva Leatherman, and sophomore Anna Rorrer finished second with a time of 3:53.26. The second team of seniors Amy Allen, Mara Whalen, Delaney Line, and Hannah Seitzinger, along with sophomore Cydney Blahovec, finished third with a time of 3:55.94—almost 10 seconds ahead of the fourth-place finishers.
Junior Madelyn Moretti placed third in the shot put, recording a mark of 13.94 meters.
Willis (60m dash - 7.77), Seitzinger (400m - 56.70) and sophomore Anna Rorrer (60m hurdles - 8.98) all finished fourth in their respective races. Seitzinger also charted a sixth-place finish in the 200m at 25.90.
Reigning A-10 Rookie of the Week Rose Kuchera placed fourth in the triple jump (11.72m/38-5.5) to lead a quartet of Dukes in the event. Freshmen Lauren Stroka (11.24m/36-10.5) and Ayuen Mading (11.13m/36-6.25) followed in fifth and sixth.
Line added a personal-best time in the 800m with a 2:26.44, Leatherman set a PR in the long jump at 5.00m (16-5), and junior Capri DeCaro posted a career-best 8.16 in the 60m.
