Pittsburgh, Pa. – Duquesne had 11 student-athletes recognized Tuesday in the 2026 Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track & Field All-Rookie and All-Academic Team announcement.
Both the men's and women's programs produced two all-academic selections. It marked the third consecutive year the women earned multiple all-academic honors and the second straight year for the men.
Christian Cupp and
Isaac Wetzel represented the Dukes on the men's all-academic team, while
Rose Kuchera and
Anna Rorrer earned women's all-academic recognition.
Cupp, a junior health sciences major with a 3.64 GPA, set the Duquesne program record in the decathlon with 7,234 points in a gold-medal performance at the Atlantic 10 Championships. He also ranks second on the Duquesne all-time leaderboard in the long jump with a mark of 7.44 meters (24-5) and was a member of the IC4A-champion 4x400-meter relay team.
Wetzel scored in both the 400-meter hurdles and 4x400-meter relay at the Atlantic 10 Championships while maintaining a perfect 4.0 GPA as a biology major.
Kuchera claimed two medals at the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Championships and owns a perfect 4.0 GPA as a business and law major. The sophomore captured conference gold in the triple jump and bronze in the long jump. During the outdoor season, she reset the Duquesne program record in the triple jump, moved to third on the all-time long jump list, fourth in the 100-meter hurdles and helped the 4x100-meter relay move to second in program history. Kuchera followed a historic indoor campaign in which she became Duquesne's first indoor All-American and earned Atlantic 10 indoor all-academic honors.
Rorrer secured gold medals in both the 100-meter hurdles and 400-meter hurdles at the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Championships while moving to third on the program's all-time list in the 400-meter hurdles. She also swept three gold medals at the ECAC Championships in the 100-meter hurdles, 400-meter hurdles and 4x400-meter relay to earn ECAC Most Outstanding Performer honors, all while maintaining a 3.76 GPA as a junior physical therapy major.
Dino Nadarevic represented the Dukes on the men's all-rookie team after leading all Atlantic 10 freshmen in both the shot put and discus. He earned a bronze medal in the discus and placed fourth in the shot put at the A-10 Championships. His season-best discus throw of 50.64 meters ranks second in program history and is the best by a Duke since 2005. Nadarevic also moved to fifth on the Duquesne all-time shot put list with a mark of 15.16 meters, the program's top throw in five seasons.
The women's all-rookie team featured a program-record six Dukes:
Sylvia Kashak,
Lauren Ciuca,
Isabella Costa,
Brandi Brozeski,
Kyndra Seddon and
Mary Grusky. Kashak, Costa and Brozeski also earned Atlantic 10 indoor all-rookie honors earlier this year.
Kashak posted the fastest freshman times in the Atlantic 10 this season in both the 800 meters and 1,500 meters, ranking fifth and seventh overall in the conference, respectively. Her time of 2:07.94 in the 800 ranks third in program history, while her 4:26.12 in the 1,500 is second all-time at Duquesne. The first-year runner earned a silver medal in the 800 at the A-10 Championships before capturing ECAC titles in both the 800 and 4x800 relay. Kashak won four of her eight individual races during the outdoor season and finished among the top three in seven of the eight.
Ciuca recorded the top 3,000-meter steeplechase time among A-10 freshmen with an 11:13.01 performance and runner-up finish at Carnegie Mellon. She later placed 13th in the event at the A-10 Championships with a time of 11:31.57.
Costa and Brozeski shared the Atlantic 10 freshman lead in the high jump after each cleared 1.64 meters during the heptathlon at the A-10 Championships, where both scored points for the Dukes. Costa also led conference freshmen in the heptathlon with 4,722 points, placing fifth overall and moving to fourth on the Duquesne all-time leaderboard. Brozeski finished sixth in the heptathlon at the conference meet and ranks fifth in program history with 4,684 points.
Seddon posted a throw of 40.76 meters (133-9) to win the Saint Francis Red Flash Invitational, marking the top discus throw by an Atlantic 10 freshman this season. An ECAC qualifier, Seddon placed 12th in the discus at the conference championships.
Grusky broke the Duquesne program record in the javelin with a throw of 51.75 meters and qualified for the NCAA East Regional. She earned silver at the ECAC Championships and bronze at the Atlantic 10 Championships, while also collecting Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week honors during the season.
