WASHINGTON, D.C. – Duquesne freshman
Rose Kuchera has been named the Atlantic 10 Women's Indoor Track & Field Rookie of the Week, announced by the league office this afternoon.
Kuchera made her collegiate debut on Friday with a trio of podium finishes at the Akron Haynes Lancaster Open. The Canonsburg, Pa. native took second in the triple jump with an 11.64m (38' 2.25") mark and third in both the long jump (5.55m / 18' 2.5") and 60m hurdles (8.93).
After opening weekend, Kuchera's triple jump mark and 60m hurdles time rank third in the Atlantic 10, while her long jump is fourth.
The Dukes will be off until the calendar turns and return to action on Jan. 18 at Kent State.
