Pittsburgh, Pa. – Duquesne University head women's golf coach Colleen Meyers announced the addition of a pair of student-athletes as part of the Class of 2025, as joining the Dukes for the 2025-26 season are Ashley von Behren and Lilly Powell.
 
The duo will join the roster as freshmen next season, joining a team that is currently made up of five rookies and a junior and in its first season as an NCAA Division I program. A closer look at the newest Dukes …

Four-year starter for head coach Kevin Turner at the Ambrose School in Meridian, Idaho … Helped lead the Archers to back-to-back state championships in 2023 and 2024 … As a sophomore finished third in state championship before claiming the 2024 Idaho state title as a junior … In the 2024 state championship posted a 36-hole score of 151 … As a freshman finished fifth individually in the state as The Ambrose School claimed third as a team … Twice tied for first at the McCall Amateur … Earned four top 15 finishes as a junior in 2024, including second at the Optimist Junior World qualifier, fourth at the Rocky Mountain PGA Junior Championship, sixth at the Idaho Junior Tour IMG qualifier and 12th at the Dropping Junior Championship … Named 2024 Girls Golf Athlete of the Year by the Idaho Press … Daughter of Andra and Dietrich von Behren … Born in San Francisco, Calif. … Has an older sister, Katrina, that competes as a freshman for the Bucknell golf program this season … Planned major is business.

Lilly is a very solid, consistent player and she's sure to bring even more strength to our roster. I can't wait to see her make an impact on the course and contribute to the team's success. We're looking forward to watching her achieve great things with the Dukes."
 
Meyers, in her first year leading Duquesne in 2024-25 after being named the first head coach in program history in August of 2023, guided the Dukes through their first fall campaign in 2024. At the conclusion of each of its four events, a student-athlete for Duquesne was named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week. Freshman Sasha Petrochko earned the honor three times while also being named Atlantic 10 Golfer of the Week once, while junior Lindsey Powanda was bestowed Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week in the final weekly awards of the fall campaign.
 
Duquesne will open its championship season in February with the Columbia Classic, which takes place in Melbourne, Fla., at Duran Golf Club. Competition is set for Saturday, Feb. 8, and Sunday, Feb. 9, and is the first of four tournaments in the spring for the Dukes.
