Duquesne Remains in Fourth Place on Moving Day

Senior Lindsey Powanda fires a 77 to pace Dukes in second round of A-10 Championship

Pittsburgh, Pa. – The Duquesne University women's golf team continued action in the 2026 Atlantic 10 Championship Tuesday, posting a 321 in the second round in Orlando, Fla., at Evermore Resort. The Dukes remain in fourth place with a 36-hole score of 653.
 
TEAM LEADERBOARD
Richmond tightened its grip atop the leaderboard after the second round. The Spiders posted a 303 Tuesday, the best team score of the tournament, and sit at 610 overall, 25 strokes ahead of Loyola Chicago (635). The Ramblers posted a 313 Tuesday and moved into second place, two strokes in front of Dayton as the Flyers carded a 319 in round two. Saint Joseph's (703) and La Salle (729) round out the field as Duquesne is competing in its second Atlantic 10 Championship in program history.
 
MOVING DAY
Making the biggest charge for Duquesne Tuesday was senior Lindsey Powanda, who closed with a 77 in the second round, shaving seven strokes off her tally from Monday's opening round. At 161 through 36 holes, Powanda sits in a tie for ninth heading into the final round. Powanda notched a pair of birdies Tuesday, including the 157-yard, par three at No. 8 as well as No. 15, which sits as a par five at 476 yards. Powanda rose five spots on the individual leaderboard thanks to her performance Tuesday and is tied with sophomore teammate Sasha Petrochko, who carded an 82 Tuesday. Petrochko posted a trio of birdies Tuesday, including one each on a par three (No. 3), a par four (No. 10) and a par five (No. 13). Overall for the tournament, Petrochko has logged five birdies, tied for second in the field with Etta Huffman of Dayton and one behind Maya Bealsey of Richmond.
 
THE LINEUP
Also moving up the rankings Tuesday for the Dukes was sophomore Abby Slankster, who leads Duquesne during the Atlantic 10 Championship in pars (18). She picked up a pair of birdies Tuesday, including No. 4, a 370-yard par four, and at No. 13, a 452-yard par five, en route to a 79. Shaving five strokes off her score from the opening round, Slankster is in a four-way tie for 13th individually at 163. She also leads Duquesne when playing a par five, as she is even through two rounds of the championship, tops among the field with four other golfers. Also for the Dukes in the second round Tuesday, freshman Ashley von Behren handed in an 83 and sits at 180 through two rounds, while freshman Lilly Powell posted an 88 in round two and is at 173 overall, which is tied for 18th with Cassie Psulk of Loyola Chicago.

The final round of the 2026 Atlantic 10 Championship Wednesday, April 22, sees a third consecutive tee time of 7:30 a.m.
