Pittsburgh, Pa. – Freshman Sasha Petrochko added another program first for the Duquesne University women's golf team Monday, as she was named both the Atlantic 10 Golfer and Rookie of the Week. It marks her second consecutive A-10 Rookie of the Week nod, as she was also honored Sept. 21.

Petrochko garners the dual honor after her performance at the Roseann Schwartz Invitational last week in Boardman, Ohio, at Millcreek Golf Course. Over the course of 36 holes in an event hosted by Youngstown State, Petrochko fired a 146 (+2) to finish in a tie for seventh individually with Megha Vallabhaneni of Western Michigan.

In the first round of the Roseann Schwartz Invitational, Petrochko registered three birdies en route to an even par score of 70. She concluded the tournament with five birdies overall and has notched a top 10 finish individually in both tournaments as Duquesne has begun competition as an NCAA Division I program this fall. Bolstered by the performance of Petrochko at the Roseann Schwartz Invitational, the Dukes finished seventh out of 13 teams with a team score of 625.

Led by head coach Colleen Meyers, Duquesne returns to action Monday, Oct. 7, with the first of two rounds at the Red Flash Invitational. The tournament, hosted by Saint Francis U, takes place at Sunnehanna Country Club in Westmont, Pa., and concludes Tuesday, Oct. 8.
