Preview: Dukes Set for ECAC/IC4A Outdoor Championships

Pittsburgh, Pa. – The Duquesne University track and field teams will compete at the ECAC/IC4A Outdoor Championships this weekend at Rutgers.

LAST TIME OUT
  • Duquesne made six updates to the program record book at the Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic, highlighted by five individual marks from freshmen. Nick Keller moved to No. 2 all-time in the 200m, while Dino Nadarevic posted the No. 2 mark in program history in the discus — the best by a Duke since 2005.
  • Sylvia Kashak recorded the No. 2 time in program history in the 1500m, while Melani Schmidt moved into the top five in both the 100m (4th) and 200m (4th). The men's 4x400m relay also posted the fifth-fastest time in program history.
  • Anna Rorrer (100m hurdles) and the women's 4x400m relay both captured event titles.

  • The Duquesne women placed seventh out of 28 teams last season, capturing two gold medals. Mia Pierce won the discus with a program-record throw, while Rose Kuchera claimed the triple jump title.
  • The men finished sixth out of 27 teams. Christian Cupp earned silver in the long jump, while Louie Liberatore returns as the reigning bronze medalist in the javelin. The 4x800m relay also earned bronze, alongside additional third-place finishes in the 400m hurdles and 400m.
UP NEXT
  • Duquesne will have one final tune-up before the Atlantic 10 Championships, traveling to Saint Francis next Saturday for the Father Bede Invitational.
