Pittsburgh, Pa. – The Duquesne University men's and women's track & field programs were recognized as U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Teams for the 2026 season, while Christian Cupp, Mary Grusky, Makayla Keck and Rose Kuchera earned USTFCCCA All-Academic Athlete honors.

The Duquesne women posted a 3.58 team grade point average, while the men's program recorded a 3.43 GPA to earn the distinction. To qualify as an NCAA Division I All-Academic Team, programs must maintain a cumulative team GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

Individually, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale, and either finish the indoor season ranked among the top 96 nationally in an individual championship event or top 48 in a relay, or qualify for the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Multi-event athletes may also qualify by finishing the outdoor season ranked among the top 48 in either the East or West Region.

Cupp, a two-time College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District selection, earned USTFCCCA All-Academic Athlete honors after posting a 3.66 GPA as a health sciences major. The junior from Shaker Heights, Ohio, ranked No. 19 in the NCAA East Region in the decathlon after totaling a school-record 7,234 points to win gold at the Atlantic 10 Championships. He is set to represent Team USA in the decathlon at the 2026 FISU America Games, which begin July 31.

Kuchera became the first All-American in Duquesne women's track & field history this season, placing 14th in the long jump at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships. The sophomore finance major owns a perfect 4.0 GPA and also earned CSC Academic All-District honors while being named to both the Atlantic 10 Indoor and Outdoor All-Academic Teams.

Freshmen Mary Grusky and Makayla Keck, who rank first and second, respectively, on Duquesne's all-time javelin list, both qualified for the 2026 NCAA East First Round. Grusky, the school record holder, carries a 3.62 GPA as a health administration major and finished 26th at the East Regional. Keck, a physician assistant studies major with a 3.96 GPA, placed 24th in the regional competition.
