Cleveland, Ohio – The Duquesne University men's tennis team wrapped up its fall portion of its schedule over the weekend, competing at the CSU Invitational hosted by Cleveland State at the at the Medical Mutual Tennis Pavilion.
Senior
Alfrendo Vogelaar and sophomore
Enrique Lana paced the Dukes in singles competition both earning a spot in the elite 8. Vogelaar went 3-1 during the main draw while Lana registered a record of 4-1. Vogelaar started the week by defeating Justin Prochnow of Case Western Reserve (6-1, 6-4) before defeating Sam Knowles (6-1, 4-6, 10-4) of Wayne State to advance to the final eight. Lana in the round of 64 defeated Rohan Bhat of Case Western 6-2, 6-4 before downing Andrew Zimcosky of Cleveland State (6-4, 6-2). In the round of 16, the sophomore captured a 6-1, 6-4 win over Rafael Le Fur of YSU to earn a spot in the final eight.
Sophomore
Aril Kayra Tuna and junior
Gianluca Citadini each captured a win during the main draw while Tuna captured a win in the singles back draw of 32.
In doubles play, junior
Austin Lai and Citadini secured a 6-3 win over Maulouet and Van Crenebroeck of YSU before falling to the eventual champions Knowles and Wasner, 6-3. Vogelaar and sophomore
Uvan Patel defeated Matorin and Davydov of Case Western, 7-5 in the main draw. In the doubled back draw, Vogelaar and Patel would capture another victory over Hill and Faniel of Wayne State, 7-5 while sophomore
Teo Papadopoulos and senior
Chris Cianciotti captured a 6-3 win over Shukla and Somasi of Niagara University.

Duquesne is idle until it opens its spring campaign when it travels to South Bend to battle Notre Dame and Western Michigan on Monday. Jan. 19.
