Davidson, N.C. – The Duquesne men's tennis team wrapped up competition at the Atlantic 10 Masters hosted by Davidson, with the Dukes highlighted by a doubles victory from junior
Arnau Anton Garcia and senior
Gianluca Citadini and a pair of consolation singles wins.
In singles competition, senior
Austin Lai battled through a three-set match against VCU's Jakub Volesky, falling 6-4, 0-6, 10-5. Lai also competed in the consolation draw, earning a 3-2 victory over Saint Joseph's Oscar Baumgartner after Baumgartner retired due to injury.
Junior
Aril Kayra Tuna faced a pair of opponents in the main singles draw, falling to Fordham's Zachary Pellouchoud, 6-3, 6-3, before dropping a 6-1, 6-4 decision to Richmond's Charlie Burdell. Kayra Tuna bounced back in the consolation draw, advancing past Saint Joseph's Ernesto Ruy after Ruy retired due to injury with Duquesne leading 4-1.
In doubles action, Anton Garcia and Citadini opened with an 8-5 victory over Richmond's Paxton Pritchard and Burdell. The Duquesne tandem then battled Fordham's Victor Kimpel and Pellouchoud in the semifinals, ultimately falling in a tight 9-8 (9-7) decision.
