Indiana, Pa. – The Duquesne men's and women's tennis teams turned in strong performances at the Brad Hanes Invitational this weekend, collecting 10 singles victories and five doubles wins at the two-day event hosted by Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Women's Tennis
The Duquesne women's tennis team picked up five singles victories and a pair of doubles wins during the weekend.

Junior Dasha Chichkina highlighted singles play for the Dukes, battling to a three-set victory over IUP's Lea Von Kozierowski, 6-3, 6-7, 10-8. Senior Mila Badics also earned a three-set triumph, defeating IUP's Asel Calbay, 6-2, 2-6, 10-2.

Junior Naomi Lalonde added a three-set victory of her own, defeating IUP's Ifigeneia Kafka, 1-6, 6-4, 10-7.

Junior Denisse Arinez Guilarte and freshman Jana Bozinovska each recorded straight-set victories. Arinez Guilarte defeated Frostburg's Patricia Castejon, 7-6, 6-4, while Bozinovska earned a 6-3, 6-3 win over Edinboro's Neza Rogl.

In doubles action, Arinez Guilarte and Lalonde teamed up for a dominant 6-1 victory over IUP's Von Kozierowski and Kafka. Senior Sofia Serrano and Bozinovska also earned a win, defeating Frostburg's Vitoria Maximilliano and Debra Gil, 6-3.

Men's Tennis
The Duquesne men's tennis team collected five singles victories and three doubles wins during its competition at the Brad Hanes Invitational.

Junior Arnau Anton Garcia led the Dukes with a pair of singles victories. He opened with a 7-6, 6-3 win over Saint Francis' Noah Potts before defeating Edinboro's Arsen Tabaldyev, 6-2, 6-3.

Sophomore Alejandro Ochoa also picked up a singles victory, defeating Edinboro's Emiel Tidman, 6-3, 6-4. Junior Teo Papadopoulos posted a straight-set win over Frostburg's Alejandro Flores, 6-1, 6-2, while classmate Uvan Patel earned a 6-4, 7-6 victory over Edinboro's Philipp Paulus.

Duquesne also turned in three victories in doubles competition.

Anton Garcia and Ochoa teamed up to defeat Edinboro's Correia and Tidman, 6-3. Juniors Aril Kayra Tuna and Tancredi Alfano earned a 6-2 victory over Saint Francis' Potts and Suresh, while Freshman Sky Wu and sophomore Zidaan Hassan defeated Edinboro's Guzman and McFadzean, 6-4.

UP NEXT
The men's team will travel to the YSU Invitational on Sept. 12-13, while the women's team heads to Davidson for the A-10 Masters on Oct. 2-4.
