Pittsburgh, Pa. – The Duquesne University men's tennis team continued its fall campaign this weekend, competing at the Carnegie Mellon Invite as two Dukes went undefeated in singles competition.
During the three-day event which featured teams of Carnegie Mellon, Edinboro, Bucknell, and Duquesne, junior
Keita Duclos and freshman
Arnau Anton Garcia went 3-0 in singles play. Duclos began the invite by defeating Brendan Hendrata of Carnegie Mellon, 6-2, 6-2 before taking down Will Secord (Carnegie Mellon) 6-4, 6-3. The junior concluded singles competition with a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Fabricio Sosa Pons of Edinboro. Garcia started with a 6-1, 7-6 (7-1) victory over Theodore Gershon of the host Tartans before securing a win over Rocco Palombarini of the Fighting Scots. The freshman ended his singles play by defeating Tabaldyev (Edinboro) 7-5, 7-6 (7-1).

Aril Kayra Tuna enjoyed a successful weekend, finishing 2-1 overall during singles competition while securing a win in doubles play. Tuna began the weekend with a 7-5, 6-3 win over Will Secord of Carnegie Mellon before battling to a 6-1, 3-6, 1-0 (10-7) over Rodriguez of Edinboro. In doubles competition, Tuna teamed up with Duclos and captured a 7-5 win over Thomas Buchard and Fabricio Sosa Pons of the Fighting Scots.

Uvan Patel and
Teo Papadopoulos all captured singles victories this weekend while Patel and Garcia secured a 6-3 win in doubles play over Theodore Gershon and Will Secord (Carnegie Mellon).

Duquesne is idle till late October when they compete a the ITA Regionals Competition on Friday, Oct. 25 through Sunday, Oct. 27.
