Orlando, Fla. – The sixth-seeded Duquesne men's tennis team saw its 2025-26 campaign come to a close Thursday morning, falling 4-0 to third-seeded Dayton in the quarterfinals of the Atlantic 10 Men's Tennis Championship at the USTA National Campus. With the loss, the Dukes finish the season with a 7-11 overall record.

The match turned early in doubles play, where the Flyers secured the opening point with decisive wins on courts one and two. Despite Duquesne showing some resistance on court three, the Flyers' quick starts put the Dukes in a 1-0 hole that proved difficult to overcome.

In singles, the Dukes struggled to find rhythm against a deep Dayton lineup. Enrique Lana and Aril Kayra Tuna faced tough matchups at the top of the order, with Dayton taking both matches in straight sets to build a commanding lead. Arnau Anton Garcia battled on court five but was forced to retire in the second set, clinching the match for Dayton.

There were, however, signs of competitiveness across the remaining courts. Alfrendo Vogelaar earned a first-set win on court three before his match went unfinished, and Austin Lai and Tancredi Alfano were both in the middle of second sets, still fighting to extend play.
