Alfrendo Vogelaar of the Duquesne men's tennis team each earned postseason honors, with Lana being named to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference Second Team and Vogelaar earning a spot on the All-Academic Team, announced by the league office Monday.
A native of Madrid, Spain, Lana emerged as one of the Dukes' top performers this season. The sophomore compiled 24 combined victories, including 14 singles wins and 10 doubles triumphs. Competing exclusively at the No. 1 singles position, he posted a 2-2 record against Atlantic 10 opponents and won four of six singles matches earlier in the season, with all four victories coming in straight sets.
Lana also excelled in doubles play, primarily competing at the No. 1 and No. 2 positions. He recorded a 5-1 mark at the top doubles spot and finished 2-1 in conference play. Closing the season on a strong note, Lana won seven of his final nine doubles matches, highlighted by victories over Fordham, St. Bonaventure, Bucknell, and Niagara.
Posting a team-best 26-19 overall record, Vogelaar earned the first postseason honor of his career from the Atlantic 10. The Hague, Netherlands native graduated with a degree in accounting while maintaining a 3.77 GPA. He is a two-time CSC Academic All-District Team selection and was named an ITA Scholar-Athlete in both 2024 and 2025.
On the court, Vogelaar led the Dukes with a 14-8 singles record, competing primarily at the No. 3 position. He posted a 7-4 mark at that spot, including a 3-1 record against conference opponents. During the fall season, the senior captured the B Flight singles championship at the YSU Invitational. He closed out the year in strong form, winning six of his final eight singles matches, highlighted by a four-match winning streak.
In doubles play, Vogelaar competed at all three positions and recorded a 6-2 mark at the No. 3 spot. His doubles victories included conference wins over Saint Joseph's and St. Bonaventure, along with nonconference triumphs against Colgate, Niagara, Saint Francis, and Mercyhurst.
