PITTSBURGH - The Duquesne University men's and women's tennis teams are set to compete in the Atlantic 10 Championships this week at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla.

The Dukes enter the No. 8 seed in the 10-team, single elimination bracket. Duquesne takes on No. 9 Saint Joseph's in the opening round on Wednesday at 3 pm with the winner advancing to Thursday's quarterfinal at 4:30 pm againt top-seeded VCU. The semifinals follow on Friday at 5:30 pm, then the A-10 Championship Match is set for 5:30 pm on Saturday.
Duquesne finished the regular season with an 8-7 record and a 1-3 mark against conference opponents. In mid-march the Dukes downed Saint Joseph's, 4-2, in the A-10 opener, but dropped its next three A-10 matches in convincing fashion.Â
Kaipo Marshall leads the team with a 10-2 singles record, all at the No. 1 spot, and has won seven straight including a 2-0 record against A-10 foes.
David Georgadze holds down the second flight with an 8-4 record from that position and a 9-6 overall mark. Georgadze, the lone graduate of the program this season, picked up his first win at the No. 1 spot last week, a 6-4, 7-5 win over St. Louis' top-singles player.
Jin Dassanayake and
Valentin Vasquez own an 8-5 singles record. Dassanayake varies at the third and fourth position, while Vasquez goes between the fourth and fifth spot and has won five of six matches at No. 4.
In doubles, Georgadze and
Tamirlan Teberikov have a 10-3 record in the No. 1 spot, as the lone duo to compete in the top doubles flight this season for DU. Dassanayake/Marshall have competed in 11 of the 14 doubles matches at No. 2 and hold a 6-5 record this season, while six different combos have seen action in the third flight.

Duquesne snapped a two-match win streak in A-10 play dropping a decision to Saint Louis last week to finish the regular season 9-8 overall and 3-2 in conference action. The Dukes are the 10 seed in the 13-team, single-elimination field at this week's A-10 Championships. DU opens the tournament against No. 7 Rhode Island at 11:30 am on Thursday. The winner will move onto the quarterfinals against No. 2 Fordham on Friday at 11:30 am. The semifinals are scheduled for 9:00 am on Saturday, then the championship match will follow on Sunday at 10 am.
Jasa Roka, a freshman from Lorton, Va., leads the Dukes in singles play with a 13-1 overall record and 3-0 conference mark. Roka won 13 straight matches to start the season and was named the A-10 Rookie of the Week on April 4. She has seen action at spots No. 3, 4, 5, and 6 with perfect 5-0 marks at both No. 5 and 6.
Daniela Latoni, a winner in seven of her last 10, is 3-0 in conference play and holds a 10-7 record mainly in the second (6-5) or third flight (3-1). Duquesne has gone just 2-for-15 in the No. 1 flight this season.
Ellen Shanahan (6-8, 1-1) has won four straight, entering the postseason with the longest win streak on the team.
The Dukes are 26-23 in doubles play this year.

Anastasiia Kotsyuba are 6-3 in the second spot and the
