- Duquesne last raced on October 13 at the Falcon Invitational, hosted by Bowling Green ... Both the men and women's teams placed fourth.
- All five scorers for the women's team recorded personal bests at Bowling Green and finished in the top 26 out of 117 runners ... Haley Hamilton has led the team in all four races she has competed in, and is coming off a 21:34.8 PR in the 6k for a sixth place finish ... Hamilton also placed ninth out of 351 runners in the brown division of the 6000m race at the Paul Short Run with a 21:58.5.
- Cydney Blahovec was named the A-10 Rookie of the Week - the first weekly award for the Dukes this season - after a ninth place finish at Schenley Park.
- Casey Padgett and Zack Toth have each led the team twice this season at races ... Toth charted his PR (24:56.3) with a fourth-place finish leading the Dukes at the Bowling Green meet two weeks ago.
- Both Dukes teams won their season opening meet at Saint Francis … Zack Toth and Padgett finished first and second in the meet and had four of the top seven finishers … Hamilton won the women's race and Gina Bolla came in third.
A-10 CHAMPIONSHIP HISTORY
- Duquesne has won three women's A-10 Cross Country Championships, most recently in the spring of 2021.
- Last season, the women took ninth place and were led by Haley Hamilton with a top-20 finish in 17th ... The Dukes return three of their five scorers from last season with Ryley Schwalm, Addy Ciecierski, and Hamilton in the lineup.
- The men return four of their five scorers from a year ago with Zack Toth, Casey Padgett, Nick Fetzer, and Nathaniel Woshner slated to run ... DU finished 13th last season in the meet and will look for its first top-10 finish since the spring of 2021 ... The Dukes won the 2005 A-10 title and have finished runner-ups six times since in 2016, '14, '11, '10, '08, and '06.
UP NEXT
- Duquesne will send runners to the Red Flash Rally, hosted by Saint Francis, next Sunday before the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional on November 10 in Bethlehem, Pa.
