BACK AT YOUTHTOWNE
Duquesne returns to Youthtowne Fields after recording 13 personal bests at the
Robert Morris Colonial Invitational earlier this season. The meet marked the first career 8K for Kochanski, Nizami and Wall, while Hamilton ran a personal-best 27:41.3. On the women's side, Edgar made her 6K debut and Ryen set a personal record with a time of 23:42.5.
BOLLA LEADING THE WAY
Senior
Gina Bolla has opened her season in dominant fashion, winning both meets she's entered. Bolla claimed the 4K title at the Saint Francis Father Bede Invitational on Aug. 30, then followed with a win at the 5K YSU Cross Country Meet #1 on Sept. 20. The Pittsburgh native finished 12 seconds ahead of the runner-up at YSU and six seconds ahead at Saint Francis.
LAST TIME OUT
The Dukes last competed at the prestigious
Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University, one of the nation's largest cross country meets with more than 1,000 runners in each field. Duquesne had 20 athletes compete, with the men placing 64th of 158 overall (10th of 38 in the Brown Division) and the women finishing 77th of 158 overall (20th of 39 in the Brown Division).
Isaak Nizami is the lone Duke racing again this week after clocking a 26:43.0 in the Men's Open Race at Lehigh.
