TOLEDO, Ohio - The Duquesne University men's tennis team wrapped up its fall season with a trip to the Zach Barden Memorial Invitational, hosted by Toledo.
SINGLES
Jin Dassanayake went 1-2 in the A bracket. After falling in straight sets to begin the tournament, Dassanayake picked up a 6-4, 6-2 decision then was bounced (1-6, 0-6).
Bode Vance suffered an injury and was unable to finish after dropping his opener 1-6, 0-6 in the B bracket.
Chris Cianciotti and
Pierce Manning battled in the C bracket. Cianciotti went 1-2 including a tie-break victory (4-6, 6-3, 12-10), while Manning was 0-3.
DOUBLES
Dassanayake and Vance teamed up to compete in the A bracket in doubles action, they finished in fifth place after opponent withdraws and retirements in the consolation rounds.
Cianciotti and Manning represented DU in the B bracket. The duo lost a hard-fought, tie-break match in the first round (6-7 [3-7]), then was eliminated with a 2-6 loss in the consolation round.
