LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Duquesne University men's tennis team competed in the ITA Atlantic Regional hosted by Liberty University this week.

The regional featured gold, silver, and bronze brackets in both singles and doubles with DU battling in the silver and bronze portions of the event.

SILVER BRACKET
Kaipo Marshall won the first set, but dropped the next two moving him to the consolation bracket after a 6-2, 0-6, 3-6 loss. Marshall bounced back with a three-set win over a Penn State foe in the consolation round (1-6, 7-5, 10-5) to finish 1-1.

Tamirlan Teberikov and Marshall also finished the doubles portion of the bracket with a 1-1 record. The squad earned an 8-5 win in the first round, then bowed out in the quarterfinals after a hardfought 8-6 loss.

BRONZE BRACKET
Keita Duclos (1-6, 6-2, 6-0) and Alfrendo Vogelaar (6-0, 6-1) picked up opening round wins before being bounced in the singles round of 32 finishing with 1-1 records. Vogelaar took his second match to three sets, but came up short 7-5 in the finale. Amit Cohen lost his first match, then suffered a tie-break loss in the consolation round.

Vogelaar and Cohen teamed up in the bronze doubles bracket and won a thrilling opener 8-7 with a 7-4 tiebreak before falling in the round of 16 by a score of 8-6.

Duclos and Tamirlan Teberikov picked up an 8-4 victory in the consolation round of the doubles bracket.
