PITTSBURGH -- The Duquesne men's tennis team opened its fall season this weekend at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational in Pittsburgh.
Duquesne, Edinboro and Carnegie Mellon competed against each other in singles and doubles play Friday and Saturday. Each of Duquesne's seven players saw action between the two days.
Across 14 singles matches, Duquesne ended up going 8-6, with a 4-3 record each day. In doubles, the Dukes went 4-2.
Junior
Kaipo Marshall, junior
Tamirlan Teberikov and junior
Bode Vance all went 2-0 in singles matches. The duo of graduate student
David Georgadze and Teberikov won both of their doubles matches as well.
This weekend's action also marks new director of tennis
Budi Susanto's first action as the leader of the Dukes' program.
The men's team's next action will be Oct. 14-16 at the Toledo Invitational.
