Dukes Fall to Top-Seeded VCU in A-10 Quarters

ORLANDO, Fla. - Duquesne dropped a 4-0 decision to top-seeded VCU in the Atlantic 10 Quarterfinals on Friday morning at the USTA National Campus in Orlando.

The Dukes, who advanced to the quarters with a 4-1 win over Saint Joseph's in the first round on Thursday, close the 2019 campaign with a 13-11 record while the Rams improve to 14-9 and move on to the A-10 semifinals to take on Dayton.

VCU claimed the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3 positions to take a 1-0 lead.

The Rams then won at No. 5, No. 6 and No. 3 to clinch the victory and a spot in the semifinals.

Chris Corrao won the first set at No. 1 singles, but VCU secured the win before the top singles matchup was finished. Corrao and Joey Matthews also led at No. 2 doubles before the doubles point was claimed by the Rams.
