HARMAR, Pa. - The Duquesne men's tennis team defeated Youngstown State 4-3 in the 2018 Spring season opener on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Drew Akins' 6-4, 6-2 #3 singles win over Yossi Dahan was the match clincher.

The Dukes won the doubles point with Adam Blasinsky and Tim Kane defeating Bassem El Mekawi and Dahan at #1 by a score of 6-3 and Chris Corrao and Jared Isaacs taking the #2 spot 7-5 over Joao Garretto and Vasileios Vardakis.

Isaacs was the first to finish in singles, 6-0, 6-1 over Alonso Lauz at #6. Tim Kane extended Duquesne's lead to 3-0 after a 6-2, 6-1 win over Alonso Lauz at #4. YSU won #5 before Akins sealed the win.

STAT OF THE GAME
The Dukes are 11-5 against the Penguins dating back to 2002.
