Box Score 2 Jan. 23, 2017 WEEKEND RECAP:
The Duquesne men's tennis team dropped a pair of matches this weekend. The spring season opened at Alpha Tennis and Fitness of Pittsburgh on Saturday afternoon with a 5-2 setback against Cleveland State. On Sunday, the Dukes fell to Youngstown State 6-1 in Boardman, Ohio.
Cleveland State 5, Duquesne 2
CSU took the doubles point and the 1,2,3 and 5 spots in singles. Tim Kane was a 6-1, 5-7, 6-2 winner at #4 over the Vikings' Jack Santilli and Jared Isaacs was a straight set winner over Mirko Radosevic 7-5, 6-2
Youngstown State 6, Duquesne 1
After sweeping the double point, the Penguins took five of the six singles points. Dimitris Stavropoulos recorded the lone Duquesne victory, defeating YSU's Mathew Kritzinger in three set (6-3, 4-6, 6-2).
