EVENT: UT Rocket Invitational

FORMAT: 4 singles, 3 doubles
QUICK RECAP: The Duquesne men's tennis team played in their third fall event Oct. 9-11 in Toledo, Ohio in the UT Rocket Invitational. Against UT, Duquesne got singles wins from Corey Robinson 6-3, 6-1 and Harry Walshe 6-4, 2-6, 10-2.
After falling to the host Rockets 4-2, the Dukes rebounded with a 3-2 victory over Wayne State. Dane Bendel won at #3 singles 6-3, 2-6, 10-7 with Robinson and Walshe winning at #1 doubles 7-2, 6-2 and Adam Blasinsky / Chris Corrao taking #2 doubles 6-7, 6-3, 6-3.
In Day 2, Duquesne split against Western Michigan (2-2) and Wright State (3-3) and defeated Mercyhurst 5-1.
Against Western Michigan, Carrao (6-4, 7-6) and Andrew Ong (6-3, 2-6, 13-11) won at #2 and #4 singles respectively. The teams did not play doubles.
Versus Wright State, Adam Blasinsky won at #2 singles 6-1, 6-1 and Drew Akins 6-0, 6-0 at #4 singles. Ong and Bendel were winners at #2 doubles 6-4, 2-6, 11-9.
The Dukes won 3-of-4 singles and swept doubles against Mercyhurst. Akins (6-1, 4-6, 10-5), Ong (6-1, 1-0 ret) and Bendel (6-2, 1-6, 10-6) were singles winners and the teams of Robinson and Walshe along with Blasinsky and Carrao recorded doubles victories.
UP NEXT: Duquesne travels to Blacksburg, Va. for the 2015 ITA Championship Oct. 15th-19th.
