Box Score

Duquesne men's soccer team travelled across the country and suffered a 4-1 loss to California Friday evening in Berkeley. Joshua Patterson scored the lone Dukes goal on a penalty kick in the 50th minute.

After 39 scorless minutes, Cal struck first with the only goal of the first half for a 1-0 halftime advantage. The Bears made it 2-0 four minutes into the second half before Patterson was fouled in the box just 30 seconds later and was successful on his P.K. attempt.

Less than two minutes later though, California scored on a penalty kick of their own to make it 3-1, then tallied the final goal of the game in the 62nd minute for the final score.

The Dukes were outshot 20-5, with Patterson having three of the five shots. Evan Kozlowski made his collegiate debut, making seven saves.
