Posada garners Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team accolades, Ervin academic nod

Pittsburgh, Pa. – In a vote of conference head coaches, a pair of Duquesne University men's soccer players were honored with postseason accolades Tuesday, as freshman Alex Posada was named to the 2025 Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team, while redshirt junior Jaxon Ervin was tabbed to the Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team.

Posada, a native of Hampton Bays, N.Y., started all 16 games for the Dukes in 2025 on the backline and was a rock for the defense, playing 1,414 out of a possible 1,440 minutes in his first year with the program. He played a full 90 minutes in each of the first six games of the year, a stretch in which Duquesne went 4-0-2 (.833), before logging 64 minutes in a 2-0 victory over Saint Francis (9/17) at Rooney Field.

Beginning with a home match against Saint Louis (9/20) after the win over the Red Flash, Posada would close the year playing all 90 minutes in each of the final nine games for the Dukes. He picked up his first career NCAA Division I goal in the last road game of the season for Duquesne at Davidson (10/25), scoring at 42:18 to knot the game, 1-1, heading into halftime.

Posada is the 13th student-athlete to earn Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team honors in 13 seasons under head coach Chase Brooks, as Duquesne has had at least one honoree on the team in seven of the last eight years.

Ervin, a native of Pittsburgh, Pa., earns his second consecutive Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team nod. A supply chain management major, Ervin has maintained a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.92.

During the 2025 campaign, Ervin led the Dukes in scoring from his midfielder position, finishing with 12 points thanks to a team-high five goals and a pair of assists. He started all 16 games for Duquesne in 2025 and over the course of his career has appeared in 43 contests, including 33 starts. He enters next season as the program's active leader in points with 24 courtesy of eight goals and eight assists, and the Dukes are a perfect 8-0 over the last two seasons when Ervin finds the back of the net.

Led by Brooks, the Dukes finished with an overall record of 8-6-2 (.562) in 2025, the fifth consecutive winning season for the program. Duquesne is slated to return eight of its 11 starters in 2026 as well as forwards Dakota Jonke and Roni Badler, the top reserve options who combined for 18 points.
