Results

The men's tennis team played shorthanded on Friday and fell to visiting Toledo, 5-2. Steve Herchko grabbed the lone singles win for DU while the Dukes also secured the doubles point.

Duquesne grabbed a 1-0 lead as Herchko and Max Rubin combined to win 8-6 at number one doubles and Kyle O'Leary and Pete Carpenter grabbed a 9-7 win at second doubles.

The Dukes lost the first three singles points before Herchko's 7-6(3), 6-4 win at number four.

"It was unfortunate we were missing Aram today due to an academic conflict but I was very encouraged by how the rest of the team stepped up," said head coach Rob Castille. "We played some of the best doubles thus far this year and I think Pete learned some valuable lessons in his singles match that he will use the rest of the year."

The Dukes return to action on Firday, March 25 as they face Charlotte at 3:00 p.m. in Radford, Va.
