Duquesne's men's tennis team lost at Wright State Saturday afternoon, 4-3. Kyle O'Leary won both of his matches.
The Dukes missed out on the doubles point as O'Leary and Pete Carpenter captured the only DU win with an 8-5 decision at number three.
In singles action, Steve Herchko tied the score at 1-1 with a 6-2, 6-2 win at number five. The Dukes lost at third singles, but took a 3-2 advantage as Kyle O'Leary won 6-3, 6-4 at sixth singles and Aram Abgaryan secured a 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 advantage at number one. The Red and Blue dropped decisions at numbers two and four however.
"This was another battle that could have gone either way that came down to a couple of points," said coach Rob Castille. "I am pleased overall with how the team competed. We are doing a lot of good things and I am confident these close matches will start to go our way very soon."
The Dukes return to action on Friday, March 18 as they host Toledo at 6:30 p.m. at the Oxford Athletic Club in Wexford.
