Rubin went 2-0 at number one doubles with Herchko and split a pair of decisions at third singles while Herchko went 2-0 in doubles and 1-1 at number four singles.
"I was very pleased with the progress we took from our first match," said head coach Rob Castille. "We beat a good conference opponent in St. Bonaventure and competed really well against a solid Buffalo team. While everyone played well this weekend, I was particularly impressed with our two freshmen, Max Rubin and Pete Carpenter. Those two stepped up and gained a lot of experience this weekend. I look forward to their continued progression."
The Dukes return to action on Friday, Feb. 4 as they host Niagara at 1:00 p.m. at The Club Sport and Health in Monroeville.
