Pittsburgh, Pa. – The Duquesne University men's and women's tennis teams are set to compete at the Atlantic 10 Championships this week at the USTA National Campus. The women's team earned the No. 9 seed, while the men's squad secured the No. 6 seed.
WOMEN'S TOURNAMENT

The Dukes enter the conference tournament as the No. 9 seed and will face No. 8 Dayton on Wednesday, April 22 at 4:30 p.m. It marks the second meeting between the two teams this season after the Flyers rallied for a narrow 4-3 victory over the Dukes in February. Duquesne heads into postseason play with momentum, coming off its first league win of the year, a 4-0 sweep of Saint Joseph's.
A quartet of Dukes enters the week with .500 or better records in singles competition, led by junior Mila Badcis, who holds a 6-5 mark overall and an impressive 6-3 record over her last nine matches. Senior
Jasa Roka is 7-6 on the season while competing across every lineup position and brings a 5-2 record over her last seven matches into the tournament, including a four-match winning streak. Sophomore
Naomi Lalonde and junior
Sofia Serrano are each at .500, with Lalonde posting a 6-6 overall record, including a strong 5-1 mark at No. 2 singles, while Serrano is 4-4 overall and a perfect 3-0 at the No. 5 spot.
In doubles play, Duquesne features two standout pairings. The duo of sophomore
Denisse Arinez Guilarte and Roka has compiled an impressive 7-2 record at No. 3 doubles and enters the tournament on a five-match winning streak, including a 2-0 mark against conference opponents. Meanwhile, the senior tandem of Alexandrea O'Brien and
Taisia Yakunina owns an 8-7 overall record, highlighted by an 8-4 mark at No. 2 doubles. The pair has gone 5-5 over its last 10 matches and is 2-2 in conference play.

Duquesne heads to Florida as the No. 6 seed and will take on No. 3 Dayton on Thursday, April 23 at 11:30 a.m. It marks the second meeting between the programs this season after Dayton secured a 4-0 victory in late March. The Flyers hold a 17-10 advantage in the all-time series, and this will be the first postseason matchup between the two teams since 2018.
Senior
Alfrendo Vogelaar has led the Dukes in doubles play this season, compiling an 8-6 overall record, including an impressive 7-4 mark at the No. 3 position. He enters the tournament having won six of his last nine matches, along with a 3-1 record against conference opponents. Sophomore
Enrique Lana brings a 6-9 overall record into the tournament, all at the top singles spot, while classmate
Tancredi Alfano owns a 5-7 record this season and has gone 4-3 over his last seven matches.
In doubles competition, the pairing of Lana and fellow sophomore
Aril Kayra Tuna has led the way with an 8-6 record on the year. The duo is 7-3 over its last 10 matches and has been particularly strong at the top spot, posting a 5-1 mark. Meanwhile, senior
Pierce Manning and Vogelaar have combined for a 4-2 record as a tandem. Vogelaar has also delivered consistency across the lineup, compiling a 7-7 overall doubles record, including a 6-2 mark at the No. 3 position.
