The men's tennis team opened the spring portion of its 2010-11 schedule with a 6-1 loss to visiting James Madison, Friday afternoon at The Club Sport and Health in Monroeville.

Senior Kyle O'Leary captured the lone Duquesne victory, topping his opponent 6-3, 4-6, 1-0(2) at sixth singles. O'Leary also teamed up with freshman Pete Carpenter and second doubles for a 9-8(4) triumph.

"I am happy with the way the team competed today against a tough JMU opponent," said head coach Rob Castille. "The critical doubles point could have gone either way so that was a tough point to lose. I am really proud of Kyle O'Leary as he gutted out a great match at #6. We will take some positives away from this match and will correct the negatives in practice this week and we will be ready for our conference match against St. Bonaventure next Saturday."

The Red and Blue face the Bonnies on Saturday at 11:30 am in New York.
