St. Bonaventure / George Washington / Buffalo
Duquesne's men's tennis team moved its record to 16-5 on the season, winning two out of three home matches this past weekend. The Dukes downed St. Bonaventure and Buffalo and fell to George Washington.
The weekend action opened on Friday with the Dukes capturing a 5-2 triumph over St. Bonaventure. It was Duquesne's first win over SBU since March 19, 2000. Jeremy McClelland, Zach Skorupka, Mikhael Rasner and Mark Maciuch each captured singles wins while the Red and Blue also won the doubles point.
On Saturday, the Dukes dropped a 5-2 decision to George Washington. Rasner and Maciuch captured the lone Duquesne victories. The weekend ended with the Red and Blue downing Buffalo, 4-3. McClelland, Rasner, Maciuch and Gustavo Villares were triumphant.
Maciuch went 5-1 over the weekend, going 3-0 in singles play and 2-1 at doubles.
The Dukes will now have 11 days off to prepare for the Atlantic 10 Championship which will be held April 4-6 at Club 4 Life in Monroeville, Pa.
