Dayton / Xavier
The Duquesne men's tennis team split a pair of matches in Ohio this past weekend. The Dukes got by Dayton 4-3 before falling to Xavier 6-1.
Jeremy McClelland, Mark Maciuch and Mikhael Rasner each picked up a pair of wins against the Flyers. McClelland was a 7-5, 6-3 winner at No. 4 singles and, along with Steve Herchko, picked up a 7-5 victory at No. 3 doubles. Maciuch took No. 5 singles 7-6(3), 6-1 and partnered with Alex Mast to win No. doubles 8-5. Rasner breezed through No. 6 singles 6-1, 6-0 and took No. 1 doubles with Michael Ortega, 8-5.
Ortega scored the lone point for the Dukes against the Musketeers, a 7-6(4), 6-7(4), 1-0(5) win at No. 2 doubles.
Duquesne (12-4, 1-1) travels to Philadelphia this weekend to visit Temple Friday at 5:00 p.m and Saint Joseph's Saturday at 4:00 p.m.
