Duquesne University's men's tennis team extended their unbeaten streak to six with a 5-2 victory over Bucknell, Friday at Club 4 Life in Monroeville, Pa. The Dukes won the doubles point and four of six singles matches.
Junior Michael Ortega and freshman Mark Maciuch won both of their matches against the Patriot League opponent. Oretga topped Ryan Sandburg and Maciuch took Daniel Bednarek, both in three sets. Junior Blake Williams and freshman Gustavo Villares won at singles in two sets each.
Ortega teamed with fellow junior Ryan Weisband, and Maciuch was joined by classmate Jeremy McClelland, for the doubles wins.
The Dukes next head to southwestern New York where they will take on Buffalo on Sunday, February 4, 2007, at 5:00 p.m. On Monday, Feb. 5th, Duquesne will meet Atlantic 10 Conference foe St. Bonaventure in a 2:00 p.m. contest.
