Final Stats
Temple (23-5, 13-0) used a second half-opening 17-0 run to cruise past Duquesne (7-19, 2-11) Friday night at the Palumbo Center.
Ashley Morris led Temple with 14 points while Kamesha Hairston scored 12 points for the Owls, who shot 55.6 percent from the field.
TU won its eighth straight game and improved to 26-10 all-time against the Red & Blue. The Dukes, who dropped their 10th straight contest, struggled from the field, where they shot 25 percent.
DU, which was down just seven at the half, mustered only five field goals in the second half and opened the stanza without scoring a point for the first seven minutes. Jocelyn Chandler led Duquesne with 13 points.
Temple dominated the boards, outrebounding Duquesne 50-19. The Owl bench accounted for exactly half (36) of Temple's 72 points.
The Red & Blue close out the 2006-07 season Sunday afternoon as they host Saint Joseph's at 2:00 pm. Seniors Carmen Bruce, Gosia Flaga, Loui Hall, Marisa Smith and Brittany Warren will be honored in a pre-game ceremony.
