Pittsburgh, Pa. - Duquesne head women's basketball coach
Dan Burt announced the addition of seven student-athletes Monday as the Dukes finalized their roster for the 2026-27 season. The incoming class features a combination of proven collegiate talent and accomplished international prospects, with two transfers and five freshmen set to join the program.
Suiting up in the red and blue this season will be
De'Naya Rippey, Carla Viegas, Amaya Robinson, Ayala Oren, Dalma Grets,
Bakhaw Seye, and
Dieymarie Diouf. Together, the group brings championship experience, international competition, and high-level production.
BACK ON THE BLUFF
Duquesne returns six letterwinners from its 2025-26 roster, including two starters from a squad that advanced to the second round of the Atlantic 10 Tournament. The returning group features three juniors, two sophomores, and one senior, highlighted by redshirt junior
Gabby Grantham-Medley. Grantham-Medley is the Dukes' leading returning scorer after averaging 7.3 points and 3.9 rebounds per game while appearing in 29 contests with 23 starts last season. She also led the team in assists, averaging more than 2.0 per game and pacing Duquesne in the category on nine occasions. Sophomore
Raevin Washington returns after establishing herself as one of the Atlantic 10's top rim protectors, ranking third in the conference with 1.6 blocks per game and fourth with 49 total blocks. Washington recorded at least two blocks in 14 games while averaging 5.1 points and 4.3 rebounds across 30 appearances and 23 starts. Redshirt sophomore
Nadia Moore is also back after a season-ending injury cut short her 2025-26 campaign. Prior to the injury, Moore averaged just under 13.0 points and 3.0 rebounds per game while shooting 44.3 percent from the field.
DE'NAYA RIPPEY | Brooklyn, N.Y. | Saint Peter's | Guard
Rippey arrives on the Bluff following a two-year stint at Saint Peter's, where she appeared in 60 games and made 35 starts for the Peacocks. She enjoyed a breakout sophomore season in 2025-26, leading the team in points, rebounds, and steals on her way to earning All-MAAC Third Team and All-MET Third Team honors. Rippey ranked eighth in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) in scoring at 13.4 points per game and sixth in rebounding with 8.0 boards per contest, while also averaging 1.8 steals per game to rank among the league leaders. She shot 37.8 percent from the field and established herself as one of the conference's most consistent all-around performers. A native of New York, Rippey recorded nine career double-doubles during her time at Saint Peter's, including seven as a sophomore. She reached double figures in scoring 21 times, highlighted by four 20-point outings and a career-high 30-point performance at Manhattan.
"De'Naya is a proven double-digit scorer at the Division I level while also averaging eight rebounds per game last season," Burt said. "A lefty with athleticism, strength, and high basketball IQ, we have high expectations for her the moment she steps on campus."
CARLA VIEGAS| Malaga, Spain | Pitt | Guard
One of the premier sharpshooters in the country, Viegas joins Duquesne following a standout junior campaign at Pitt. She appeared in 29 games with 13 starts, averaging 8.6 points per game while emerging as one of the ACC's top perimeter threats. Viegas ranked fourth in the conference in three-pointers made per game (2.41) and fifth in three-point percentage (36.8), finishing with 70 made triples, the seventh-highest total in the ACC. The Spain native scored in double figures nine times, highlighted by a career-high 27-point performance at Miami, where she set a program record with eight made three-pointers. She recorded at least two triples in seven games and knocked down four or more threes in seven contests. Prior to Pitt, the senior guard spent two seasons at Florida State, appearing in 61 games with 17 starts for the Seminoles. During her time in Tallahassee, she averaged more than 5.0 points per game and connected on 100 career three-pointers.
"Carla was the second best three-point shooter in the transfer portal this offseason," Burt explained. "We pursued her hard from the moment she went into the portal and are very excited that she is moving over to the Bluff. Carla has deep range and a high, quick release point that will be invaluable to us this upcoming season. We believe her game is even more versatile than what she has had the opportunity to demonstrate at her previous two programs, and we are excited to see her talents on full display in her final year of college basketball."
AMAYA ROBINSON | Ajax, Ontario, Canada | Guard
Robinson arrives at Duquesne following a decorated career at Royal Crown School in Toronto, where she helped lead the Lions to back-to-back Grind Session Championships and Women's National Provincial Association (WNPA) titles in 2024-25 and 2025-26. She also guided Royal Crown to the Ontario Scholastic Basketball Association (OSBA) championship in 2025-26, as the Lions finished the season undefeated in league play. The 5'6 guard earned OSBA First-Team East Division honors as a senior after shooting 46.0 percent from three-point range, following a Junior OSBA First-Team All-Star selection in 2023-24. She was selected to the All Canadian Games, winning the event's three-point contest in 2025-26, and was a two-time Junior OSBA Champion in 2022-23 and 2023-24. Robinson also earned an invitation to Team Canada during the 2025-26 season. Off the court, she was named the 2026 Valedictorian and earned Honor Roll recognition throughout her high school career.
"Amaya joins us from Royal Crowne Academy, widely regarded as one of the premier high school programs in North America," Burt said. "She is a dynamic scoring guard who can also play point guard. A very good three-point shooter who can score at all three levels. Amaya is the definition of student athlete as she is also the class valedictorian."
AYALA OREN | Ness Ziona, Israel | Guard
A highly accomplished international prospect, Oren brings extensive experience competing for Israel's national team at the U18, U19, and U20 levels. She helped Israel secure a fourth-place finish at the FIBA U18 Women's European Championship and qualify for the FIBA World Championships, while also contributing to a sixth-place finish at the FIBA U20 European Championship. At the FIBA U19 Championships, she showcased her versatility by averaging 12.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and 3.0 steals per game. A product of Ben Gurion High School in Ness Ziona, Israel, she played a key role in leading her team to a runner-up finish in the Israeli Youth First League. Her standout performances earned her Player of the Year honors as well as MVP recognition in the Cup Finals. Throughout her prep career, she averaged 12.8 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.9 assists, and 2.1 steals per game, establishing herself as one of Israel's top young talents.
"When we entered the offseason, our top priority was to sign a proven, mature point guard," Burt explained. "We found that in Ayala, who has successfully played at the highest level of pro basketball in Israel while captaining the U18 and U20 National Teams. She plays with flair and flare, while being a set the table point guard and scoring from all three levels. Ayala was highly sought after by multiple Power Four programs, and we are thrilled to have her bring her experience, leadership, and talent to the Bluff."
DALMA GRETS | Dunaharaszti, Hungary | Guard
A native of Hungary, Grets developed her game at Babits Mihály Practicing High School while also competing for NKA Universitas PEAC Pécs, one of the top clubs in Hungary's A Division. A two-time All-Star in Hungary, she played a key role in helping NKA PEAC Pécs capture the 2026 Hungarian League Championship. On the international stage, she represented Hungary as a member of the U18 National Team in both 2023-24 and 2024-25 after competing with the U16 National Team during the 2022-23 season. She helped lead Hungary's U16 squad to a bronze-medal finish in 2022, adding valuable experience against some of Europe's top young talent. Her success at both the club and international levels has established her as one of Hungary's rising basketball prospects.
"Dalma was a member of this season's Hungarian domestic league championship team and competed with the consistently strong Hungarian National Team," Burt said. "She is a combo guard who has trained and played with professional players the last three years. We expect her to continue our long-standing legacy of having the best Hungarian players in our program."
BAKHAW SEYE | Dakar, Senegal | Guard
Widely regarded as one of the top three-level scorers in Senegal, Seye brings a championship pedigree to the Bluff after leading SEED Academy to titles in 2019, 2022, and 2023. Her standout performances have earned her numerous accolades, including Most Valuable Player honors at the Hoop Forum and selection as a Basketball Without Borders All-Star. In 2022, she was named SEED Academy's MVP and served as team captain, showcasing her leadership both on and off the court. The 6'4" guard is known for her versatility, combining elite size and skill to impact the game on both ends. Seye has built a strong reputation as one of Senegal's premier three-point shooters and rebounders, averaging 12.0 points and 10.0 rebounds per game while using her length to defend the rim and control the glass.
"Bakhaw is a 6-5 guard who can score at all three levels and was widely considered as the best player in her age group in Senegal," Burt explained. "Bakhaw's game is smooth and effortless. Her defense is underrated. Bakhaw has serious professional potential down the road after adapting to the university model."
DIEYMARIE DIOUF | Dakar, Senegal | Center
A 6'6 forward from Senegal, Diouf arrives on the Bluff after competing at SEED Academy, where she played alongside fellow newcomer
Bakhaw Seye. Possessing tremendous size, athleticism, and upside, Diouf adds an exciting presence to the Dukes' frontcourt. She also comes from a strong basketball lineage, as her aunt, Astou Ndiaye-Diatta, enjoyed a decade-long professional career in the WNBA from 1997-2007. Ndiaye-Diatta suited up for several franchises during her career, including the Detroit Shock, Indiana Fever, Houston Comets, and Seattle Storm, providing Diouf with a family connection to the highest level of women's basketball.
"Dieymarie is a legitimate 6-6 center who can shoot it consistently to the three-point line," Burt said. "She plays with physicality while being an effective rim protector. Her potential is unlimited."
