Dukes Defeat Temple, 5-2

Duquesne's men's tennis team, which had lost their first match of the season to St. Bonaventure on Monday, returned to their winning ways with a 5-2 victory over Temple Sunday at Club 4 Life in Monroeville, Pa.

The 7-1 Dukes opened the day's activities by sweeping all three doubles games and then won four of six singles matches. Winning in the one-on-one competitions were juniors Michael Ortega (Guaynabo, PR) and Adam Townsend (Havertown, PA) and freshmen Mark Maciuch (Chicago, IL) and Jeremy McClelland (Wheeling, WV).

Duquesne, which is competing without any seniors on the roster, will next head to the two-day Gustavus Adolphus College Invitational in Saint Peter, Minnesota. The Dukes will first take on South Dakota State on Friday, February 16th, and then face St. Cloud State and the host Gusties on Sat. Feb. 17, 2007.
