Dukes End Season with 4-1 Win over Billikens

Monroeville, Pa. - Duquesne University's men's tennis team, the ninth seed, closed the 2005-06 season with a 4-1 victory over #12 Saint Louis in the Atlantic 10 Championship Tournament Sunday at Club 4 Life.

Saint Louis opened the match by taking the doubles point, 2-1. Senior Devon Peightal and sophomore Adam Townsend grabbed DU's win, 9-8, over Sean McManus and Paul Feder.

In the singles competition, Duquesne took four matches to clinch ninth place in the A-10s. Michael Ortega, Rob Ojeda, Townsend and Peightal each won in straight sets.

Townsend was winnning and Blake Williams was headed to a third set when the clinching match was secured. They did not finish their contests.

This is the third straight weekend that Duquesne split a pair of matches. The Red and Blue's overall record is 10-16.
