Results

Erie, Pa. - Duquesne's men's tennis team concluded its fall schedule with an 8-1 road victory over Mercyhurst Saturday afternoon at the Westwood Racquet Club. The victory was Duquesne's fifth in a row, raising the team record to 5-1.

Devon Peightal (Fairview, PA / Cathedral Prep), Michael Ortega (Guaynabo, PR / Colegio Rosa Bell), Adam Townsend (Erie, PA / Cathedral Prep), Rob Ojeda (San Juan, PR / Marquette), Paul Clough (Mississauga, Ontario / Lorne Park) and Rob Schrippa (Carnegie, PA / Carlynton) all won their sinlges matches in straight sets. Clough led the charge with a 6-0, 6-1 win over the Lakers' Shane Holzworth. The Dukes won two of three doubles games.

The game was a homecoming for a couple Dukes: Peightal and Townsend both prepped at Erie's Cathedral Prep School.

Note: Mercyhurst is an NCAA Division II program; hence the three doubles matches are scored individually.
