- Duquesne surged past La Salle on Wednesday with a 5-0 fourth quarter, securing a 14-10 victory to improve to 2-0 in A-10 play.
- Corinne Webb led the way with a hat trick (all in the first-quarter), while Haley Reeck, Megan Marco and Chelsea Evans each netted two goals.
- Mackenzie Leszczynski extended her scoring streak to 23 consecutive games ... Mia Piocquidio opened the scoring less than two minutes in ... Kelsea Cooke, Gracin Emerson, and Addison Scanlon each converted free-position goals.
- The Dukes jumped out to an 8-1 lead, but La Salle battled back, cutting it to 9-5 at halftime and taking a 10-9 lead after a shutout third quarter.
- Duquesne responded with a 5-0 fourth quarter — Scanlon tied it at 10, and Reeck (who scored twice in the fourth quarter) put the Dukes ahead for good at the 8:46 mark.
- Defensively, DU forced a season-high 23 turnovers while committing a season-low 12 turnovers on offense.
BEST START IN A DECADE
- With a 2-0 start in A-10 play, Duquesne is off to its best start since 2014.
- The Dukes have not started 3-0 in conference action since 2005.
- Tracy Coyne is tied with Mike Scerbo (2006) and Corinne Desrosiers (2019) for the best 7-game start (5-2) by a first-year head coach in Duquesne history.
- Scerbo started 7-2 in 2006 - the best start by a first-year coach in program history.
- Duquesne is also 3-0 on the road ... The best start since 2011.

- Massachusetts takes a two-game win streak into the matchup with wins over VCU (18-12) and Rhode Island (18-8) to start A-10 play.
- The Minutewomen (4-3) battled a challenging non-conference slate with two of their three losses coming to ranked opponents (22-5 at No. 1 Boston College and 19-16 at No. 23 UConn).

- She added 5 CT, 3 GB and 1 DC Wednesday at La Salle.
- Pawela is just the second Duke ever to record over 130 career caused turnovers ... Her 135 career total is the most among all active Division I players.
- Megan Hungate (1998-01) is DU's record holder with 178 CTs in her career.
- With 144 career ground balls, Pawela is 15 away from ranking in the top-five all-time at DU ... Her ground ball total ranks fourth-most among active Division I players.
- To begin her senior campaign, Pawela leads the Dukes in caused turnovers (3.14 per game — 1st in A-10, 4th in DI) and ground balls (3.00/g — 2nd in A-10, 21st in DI), while also ranking 11th in the A-10 for draw controls (3.29/g).
- Last season, Pawela ranked #1 nationally in caused turnovers per game and #2 in ground balls per game.
