Box Score Pittsburgh, Pa. – The Duquesne University men's tennis team continued its three-game homestand on Friday night, capturing a 4-3 victory over Edinboro at the Alpha Tennis and Fitness of Pittsburgh. With the win, the Dukes improve to 2-1 overall this season.
Duquesne captured the doubles point by winning a pair of matches. Senior
Kaipo Marshall and graduate student
Jin Dassanayake captured a 6-2 win over Bruno Sabio and Rocco Palombarini in the second slot. At the third singles, sophomores
Alfrendo Vogelaar and
Keita Duclos secured a 7-6 (3-0) win over Stanislas Noel and Thibault Dorval to secure the point.
In singles competition, the Dukes and Fighting Scots split the six matches, with Duquesne capturing the match victory. Kaipo downed Sabio 6-1, 6-1 at the first singles while Vogelaar captured a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Dorval at the four spot. At the fifth singles, Dassanayake captured a 6-0, 4-6, 7-6 (3-0) win over Gustavo Martins. Teberikov fell by a 6-4, 6-1, 6-4 decision in the second slot while Duclos dropped a 7-6, 6-4 match to Noel at the third singles. Senior
Bode Vance fell by a 3-6, 4-6 count at the final singles.

Duquesne returns to action tomorrow, Feb. 10, when they welcome Colgate to the Alpha Tennis and Fitness of Pittsburgh for a non-conference match.
