TEMPE, Ariz. - The No. 14 Duquesne University triathlon team competed at the Women's Collegiate Triathlon National Championships Saturday in Arizona.
The Dukes were led by nationally-ranked freshman
Robyn Hunt with a 1:10:03.7 in 65th place out of 208 athletes.Â
Jet Francis (1:12:47.4),
Paige Black (1:12:49.1), and
Bella Schaller (1:12:51.5) finished back-to-back-to-back less than five seconds apart in spots 85-87.
Kate Potashnik crossed the line in 1:14:19.6 in 92nd,
Abby Kreber (1:16:20.7) was 102nd, and
Ainsleigh Cardone rounded out the Dukes in 108th with a 1:17:27.5.
Schaller was the fastest swimmer for the squad with an 11:20, Hunt paced the bike portion of the event with a 36:16, and Potashnik ran a 20:25 for the top 5k time.Â
The national championship race featured a 750m Swim; 20k Bike; and 5k Run.
Duquesne will be off until March 2-3, when it wraps up the inaugural triathlon season at the Clermont Draft Legal Challenge.
