TEMPE, Ariz. — The Duquesne University triathlon team placed ninth in Division I, while freshman
Kadence Ribbink recorded the best individual finish in the program's three-year history at the Women's Collegiate Triathlon National Championships hosted by Arizona State on Saturday.

Ribbink completed the 750-meter swim, 20K bike, and 5K run in 1:05:35.4, placing 31st overall out of 190 competitors. The first-year standout from Durban, South Africa, was also the fifth-fastest freshman in the field.
Three freshmen led the way for the Dukes, with
Catherine Staley (1:10:07.6) placing 63rd and
Mikele Jopson (1:10:31.8) finishing 70th behind Ribbink.
Rachele Lavagno turned in a 1:11:14.3 for 76th, followed by
Vivien Mattice (1:12:05.0 – 89th),
Robyn Hunt (1:12:25.6 – 92nd), and
Abby Kreber (1:14:18.4 – 103rd).
Staley posted Duquesne's top swim split at 10:47.3, while Ribbink paced the team on both the bike (34:59.5) and run (18:27.5), the latter ranking 11th-fastest among all competitors.
The Dukes totaled 626 points to place ninth in Division I for the second consecutive season. Arizona captured the 2025 Women's Collegiate Triathlon National Championship.
