NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Duquesne earned a pair of Atlantic 10 men's soccer weekly awards with Domenic Nascimben (Sydney, Australia ) and Ask Ekeland (Stavanger, Norway) named Defensive Player and co-Rookie of the Week respectively.

They are the second and third weekly honors won by DU players this season.

Nascimben, who has recorded shutouts in four of Duquesne's first five games, turned in clean sheets vs. both James Madison (2-0) and Howard (7-0) in helping the Dukes to their first 5-0 start in program history.

The Sydney, Australia native turned away a pair of shots vs. JMU and followed that with a career-high 11 saves versus Howard. Nascimben thwarted a pair of late second-half Howard penalty kicks (82' & 87') in posting two more saves than his previous career best.

Ekeland found the back of the net three times in two games, starting with a goal in the 17th minute of the win over James Madison. The Norwegian followed that with a brace (7' & 13') in the first 14 minutes of the win over Howard. Ekeland, who has started all five DU matches, was a model of efficiency with all three of his shots on the week resulting in goals.

Duquesne (5-0), which was among others receiving votes in last week's United Soccer Coaches Top 25 (new poll to be announced Tuesday), hits the road to face Wright State (0-3-2) on Tuesday, Sept. 13 at 5:00 p.m.
