PITTSBURGH – Four Duquesne players were named All-Northeast Conference in a vote of league coaches released today.
Senior receiver
Dwayne Menders, Jr. (Miramar, Fla./Mater Academy Charter) and junior linebacker
Todd Hill (Homestead, Pa./Steel Valley) were named First Team All-NEC; while sophomore receiver
Abdul Janneh (Hanover, Pa./New Oxford) and junior defensive back
Jeremiah Josephs (Pittsburgh, Pa./Gateway) earned Second Team honors.
Menders, a first-year transfer from Marist, led the Dukes with 55 catches for 917 yards (16.7 ypc.). His yardage total and 83.4 yards per game average both ranked second in the NEC.
Hill, a two-time Second Team All-NEC pick, led the conference in both sacks per game (1.05) and tackles for loss per game (2.0). Hill ranks tied for second in the FCS in tackles for loss per game (22 in 11 games) and tied for third nationally in sacks per game (11.5 in 11g.). He also led the Dukes in total tackles with 61 and solo stops with 43.
Janneh, who played in five games last season, emerged as one of the top threats in the NEC with 43 catches for 579 yards and nine touchdowns in 2022. His nine receiving TDs were the second-most in the conference.
Josephs, a second-year transfer from Miami, Ohio, finished the year with 33 tackles (22 solo) including 5.5 tackles for loss and a sack. He also had a pair of interceptions. Josephs was also a Second Team All-NEC pick in 2021.
Duquesne has had a total of 60 First Team and 55 Second Team all-conference picks since joining the NEC in 2008.
