SETTING THE SCENE
NEc action continues at rooney field

Duquesne returns to Rooney Field on Saturday looking to build on its first NEC victory of the season when it hosts Wagner. The Dukes (2-4, 1-1 NEC) earned a 14-7 road win at Stonehill last week, scoring on the opening possession of both halves while holding the Skyhawks scoreless after halftime. Quarterback Carson Camp accounted for both touchdowns, throwing an 18-yard scoring pass to Myles Walker before adding a five-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. Defensively, Luke Miller led all players with 14 tackles for the second consecutive week, while James Monds III recorded the first interception of his career to help seal the victory.

Wagner (1-6, 0-3 NEC) looks to snap a five-game losing streak after dropping a 14-9 decision to conference-leading LIU last week. The Seahawks took a 9-7 lead in the third quarter on a safety before LIU scored the go-ahead touchdown following a strip sack deep in Wagner territory. Wagner is winless in three road games this season and has also fallen to NEC opponents Robert Morris and Central Connecticut. Defensively, Julio Tatis leads the way with two pick-sixes in NEC play.

The matchup marks Duquesne's third of five home games this season, with three of the Dukes' next four contests scheduled for Rooney Field. Duquesne aims to earn its first consecutive victories of the season
