Dukes Land Western Kentucky Transfer Pouye

Grad transfer will be immediately eligible with one year of eligibility remaining.

PITTSBURGH – Duquesne women's basketball head coach Dan Burt has announced that former Western Kentucky guard Fatou Pouye has been added to the roster.

Pouye, a 6-0 guard, will join the Dukes as a graduate transfer and will be immediately eligible with one year of eligibility remaining.

"Fatou is a game ready addition," Burt said. "Having very good success at Western Kentucky, we expect Fatou to be ready to help us the moment she steps on campus. Fatou has a pro mentality with her work ethic, athleticism, and skill set. Fatou allows us to play with small or big line ups and gives us a strong rebounding presence, especially on the offensive glass."

The Kaolack, Senegal native appeared in all 52 games with the Hilltoppers over the past two seasons. Pouye started all 23 games this past season and averaged 10.0 points and 6.4 rebounds per game. She scored in double figures 11 times, including a pair of outings of 20 points or more, and had three double-doubles. As a junior in 2019-20, Pouye averaged 3.0 points and 3.1 rebounds per game.

Pouye also spent two seasons at South Georgia Tech (JUCO), where she was named second team all-region as a sophomore.
